Garden Light-After Sorolla
This pastel is my study of Garden of the Sorolla House by the Spanish master Joaquín Sorolla, whose work shimmers with sunlit joy. As both a painter and a gardener, I was captivated by his ability to make light feel alive—dancing on blossoms, spilling across white walls, and softening every shadow. In recreating his composition, I immersed myself in his brushwork and color harmonies, learning how each stroke holds both precision and airiness. This piece is a love letter to both his genius and the timeless beauty of a garden in full bloom.
