This is the first in my four-piece mini-series on lavender, inspired by my travels to Provence. The rolling fields there hold a kind of magic—sunlight spilling over violet blooms, their fragrance carried on the warm breeze. I wanted to capture that sense of wonder in an impressionistic way, letting colors blend and edges soften so the viewer can wander, unhurried, through layers of memory and dream.
